Bears Fire John Fox After Third Last Place Finish: Reports
Fox, who was hired after coaching the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl, was unable to get the Bears out of the basement.

CHICAGO, IL – The Chicago Bears have apparently decided that three losing seasons and last-place finishes are enough. Several reports Monday morning indicate the team has fired head coach John Fox. The Bears, one of the NFL's storied franchises, have now gone five seasons without a winning record.
The team was soundly beaten by the playoff-bound Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, losing 23-10. The Bears showed little reason to have confidence in Fox during the game, gaining only 30 yards on the ground, getting penalized 10 times for 116 yards, and not even crossing midfield until the 4th quarter.
The loss dropped them to 5-11 for the season. They ended the season in last place in the NFC North for the third straight season.

Fox was hired by the Bears in January 2015 after a run with the Broncos in which they won four straight division championships and made it to the Super Bowl.
The team had yet to put out a statement.
