Below-Zero Wind Chills Expected, More Cold Air On The Way

​The weather service said temperatures will start to fall throughout Wednesday and into the night.

ILLINOIS — Below-zero wind chills will return to the area Wednesday night, and again on Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. Minimum wind chills early Thursday could get as low as minus 20 for some areas and as low as minus 10 for some areas on Friday morning.

The weather service said temperatures will fall throughout Wednesday into the night. The cold weather will continue through Thursday, into Thursday night and Friday morning.


The high will be 22 degrees on Thursday and 27 degrees on Friday, according to the weather service. Temperatures will rebound on Saturday but will fall again overnight into Sunday.

According to the weather service, additional cold is also likely during the latter half of the weekend and into next week. There will also be several chances of light snow accumulation during this time, the weather service said.
