Best Illinois School Districts: 2017 Rankings

Data compiler Niche.com recently released its 2017 list of the best school districts in the country and in each state -- and seven Illinois districts ranked among the top 100 in the nation.

Community High School District 128 in Vernon Hills was ranked No. 2 in the country, and New Trier Township High School District in Northfield wasn't far behind at No. 7. Other local school districts receiving high marks include Naperville Community Unit School District 203 and Barrington Community Unit School District 220.

To compile its lists, Niche analyzed academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, along with test scores, college data and ratings collected from millions of Niche users. Read how the rankings were calculated here.
