Boy, 7, Shot In Bucktown

A 7-year-old boy was hurt by a bullet fragment during a shooting late Thursday night in the Bucktown neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — Detectives are investigating after a 7-year-old boy was shot late Thursday in Bucktown. CBS reports police said the boy was riding in a car with three other older family members near North and Claremont avenues around 11:25 p.m. when a group of people started shooting the car and a bullet fragment hit the boy in the chin. He was taken to the hospital where he was in good condition, CBS says.

Investigators say a male family member in the car with the boy is a documented gang member, but it isn't clear if he was the target in the shooting.

According to CBS, police say they know who they're searching for.
