Bulls Add Another Key Roster Piece With All-Star DeRozan: Report
DeMar DeRozan will reportedly sign a $85 million deal after the Bulls added Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso to improve their playoff chances.

CHICAGO — After failing to make the NBA playoffs five out of the past six years, the Chicago Bulls continued to build a roster that may move them closer to ending their postseason drought.
A day after the Bulls front office swung deals that will bring Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso to Chicago, the Bulls have reached a sign-and-trade to acquire All-Star DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
DeRozan, who averaged 21.6 points, a career-high 6.9 assists and shot 49.5 percent from the field, would come to Chicago in exchange for veteran Thad Young, a future first-round pick and two future second-round picks, The Athletic reported on Tuesday. The deal would be a three-year contract worth $85 million, the report said.

DeRozan can play both shooting forward and power forward and adds another talented piece to a Bulls puzzle as the front office attempts to make the Bulls a playoff team. Chicago has missed the playoffs in each of the past four years and hasn’t registered a winning record since 2016. They last made the playoffs in 2016 when they lost in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The Bulls obtained Ball on Monday on a four-year, $85 million deal and sent Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple and a second-round draft pick to the New Orleans Pelicans. ESPN reported that Caruso was obtained from the Los Angeles Lakers on a four-year, $37 million deal.

Ball averaged 14.6 points per game and handed out 4.8 assists and shot 41.4 percent from the field. The former overall No. 2 pick by the Lakers has been a target of the Bulls since last season and will enhance a roster that already includes Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.
This week’s deals cannot be finalized until Friday.
