Bulls Guard Lonzo Ball To Undergo Knee Surgery, Miss 6-8 Weeks
Ball reportedly suffered a slight tear in the meniscus of his left knee and will travel to California soon to undergo the medical procedure.

CHICAGO — Chicago Bulls starting guard Lonzo Ball will miss 6-8 weeks after he undergoes arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the team announced Thursday.
Ball sustained a slight tear in his meniscus in the knee, according to reports and is scheduled to travel to California in the next few days for the procedure, ESPN reported. The Bulls said in statement that the decision for Ball to undergo surgery was made after Ball had rested the knee for a period of time and had undergone "targeted intervention," the team said Thursday.
"Now they've switched to a different kind of treatment for him and they'll see how that treatment works out," coach Billy Donovan told reporters on Wednesday. "Then there'll be another step after that if we need to be. Right now it's more just trying to help him get healthy.

"When he was on the road with us and didn't play in Boston, there was some treatment he was given, didn't really respond great to that, met with a doctor, there's another set of treatments going on right now. Then we'll probably know more (once) we see how it responds to that."
Ball has not appeared in a game since Jan. 14 when he played 23 minutes in a blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Ball is averaging 13 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He's on pace to set career highs in field-goal percentage (42.3) and three-point percentage (42.3).
Ball has been part of the resurgent Bulls, who added the guard along with Demar DeRozen in the off-season along with Alex Caruso. The Bulls snapped a four-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Despite the recent slide, the Bulls remain atop the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings with a 28-15 record.
