The Inaugural <a href="https://www.uptown-live.com/" target="_blank" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.uptown-live.com/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755020112646000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0cDylhkwXIG6hbR9dqtKs0" rel="nofollow">Uptown Live Street Festival</a>, in Chicago’s historic entertainment district, is kicking off Friday, September 19th through Sunday, September 21st. 
This is the first street festival of this caliber for the Uptown neighborhood, which will set the stage for world class entertainment, including live music performances from global and locally recognized bands and DJ’s, food and much more. 
Upon entering the festival there will be a suggested $10 donation at the gate each day, to support the event and Uptown Chamber of Commerce neighborhood initiatives. These suggested donations will help fund future special community projects, initiatives and events, including Uptown Live 2026. 
Uptown Live will take place rain or shine, unless severe weather conditions warrant the event to pause or close for a day. Gates open Friday, September 19th at 5pm until 10pm; Saturday, September 20th from Noon to 10:00pm; and Sunday, September 21st, Noon to 7:00pm.

The Gold Coast Sounds Good Choir will bring down the house at its free spring choral concert on Thursday, May 15, at 2 pm, singing hits from iconic Broadway musicals like “Oklahoma,” “Porgy &amp; Bess,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “West Side Story,” and “Hamilton," and more. Sounds Good Choir is a nonprofit organization with two incredible choral programs. Sounds Good is Chicagoland's largest no-audition choral program for adults 55+. It's fun,&nbsp; good for you (health and well-being benefits are associated with singing in a group), and we're a&nbsp;warm, welcoming community of people who love to sing.&nbsp;Good Memories is the only choir in Illinois for persons with early-stage dementia and their care partners to sing together. The lively, fun, and supportive&nbsp;program is designed especially for those with memory loss. Trained volunteers assist.&nbsp;Both programs are led by professional conductors who are experts in the training of the older adult voice and each&nbsp;session concludes with a free, public concert by each choir.

Jet’s Pizza Celebrates National Pizza Party Day on Friday, May 15

As Chicago’s premiere summer kickoff event, Lincoln Park Mayfest is a lively celebration of the neighborhood’s spirit and talent. Enjoy performances from top local bands on two stages, browse the works of skilled artisans, indulge in mouthwatering cuisine, and savor a variety of refreshing libations—all set to make your weekend unforgettable. Lincoln Park Mayfest will be held May 15-17, Friday, 4 pm to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Noon to 9 p.m. Located in the heart of Lincoln Park on Armitage from Racine to Sheffield, Chicago (1000 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago, IL 60614)
The event also features the popular Spring Fine Art Mart, showcasing local and national artists, including painting, photography, and jewelry. There will also be a kids’ area with activities and inflatables.
A $10 suggested donation upon entry benefits the <a href="https://ranchtriangle.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">RANCH Triangle Community Conservation Association</a>. The association was founded in 1963 as a nonprofit community organization representing the residents and businesses within the borders of Racine Avenue, Armitage Avenue, North Avenue, the Chicago River, and Halsted Street. The all-volunteer group gives back to schools, parks and works with local aldermen to improve the public infrastructure including streets, sidewalks and lighting. <a href="https://www.saveourstreetfests.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">As a non-profit organization and not city funded, donations will help these festivals stay around for all to enjoy.</a>

Gold Coast Sounds Good Choir

Chicagoland's largest no-audition choral program for adults "55 and better" has nine choirs throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including the Gold Coast. Conducted by Jonathan Miller, the choir rehearses and performs at the beautiful, historic Fourth Presbyterian Church on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, 126 E. Chestnut Ave. Three sessions a year are offered -- two 15-week sessions in the fall and spring, and one 8-week session in the summer). All sessions include: a weekly 90-minute rehearsal with an additional (optional) online Friday rehearsal; guidance and instruction by professional conductors and accompanists; licensed sheet music; accessible rehearsal and performance venues; and free, public performances by each choir. Registered singers are also free to rehearse and perform with as many of the nine choirs as they wish for just one registration fee per session. Scholarships are readily available -- call the Sounds Good office at 630.395.9542 to apply. Sounds Good Choir also offers the only choir in Illinois for adults with early-stage dementia and their care partners. The Good Memories program is specifically designed to provide a safe, welcoming community in which to sing, socialize, and have fun.
