Compass Box Scotch Whisky is offering Chicago’s cocktail enthusiasts a unique opportunity to pass judgement on Chicago’s top bartenders at the upcoming Flavor Without Limits: Battle of the Bartenders final heat on Wednesday, February 26. Free to attend, the event invites guests to join three expert judges as they sample and assess five finalists’ original cocktails featuring Compass Box’s award-winning Orchard House Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.
Following initial rounds that whittled down the bartender recipe submissions to the five finalists, Flavor Without Limits will rely on Chicago’s discerning cocktail lovers to watch the finalists prepare the cocktails à la minute for a panel of expert judges comprised of Angela D’Orazio, Creative Director of Whiskymaking at Compass Box; Brett Pontoni, Specialty Spirits Buyer at Binny’s; and Brian Sturgulewski, Beverage Director for Bonhomme Group, before they sample and vote for their favorite drink. The winner will be determined by a combination of consumer votes and judges’ scores and awarded an exclusive paid trip to London, including a behind the scenes visit to the Compass Box blending room.
Finalists’ bars and restaurants will also serve their Flavor Without Limits cocktail at each location throughout the last two weeks of February, giving the Chicago community the chance to taste and enjoy the innovative creations firsthand.
