Hyatt Lodge Memorial Day Weekend Celebration with Car Show, Cookouts & Family Activities

Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook, the nature-rich retreat set on 88 acres of forest preserve in the heart of Oak Brook, will host the ultimate summer kickoff with a weekend of Memorial Day activities from Friday, May 22 through Sunday, May 24. The resort-style property welcomes guests, families, and the Oak Brook community for a multi-day lineup of outdoor experiences, including a Friday Car Show and Cookout and Sunday’s Bike the Reserve. Events are open to the public, with food and beverages available for purchase, offering a relaxed and scenic setting to celebrate the holiday weekend.

Festivities begin Friday with the Memorial Day Car Show and Cookout from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., set against the Lodge’s lush, wooded grounds. Attendees can explore a showcase of classic cars while enjoying cookout favorites, outdoor bar service, and live music, and are also welcome to bring their own vehicles to participate in the show. Guests will have the opportunity to vote in the People’s Choice Car Show via QR code, with a prize for the winning car including a weekend stay and a $50 credit to the on-site restaurant and bar, Hearth Lounge.

On Sunday, the celebration continues with Bike and Hike the Reserve from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a guided ride through the picturesque trails surrounding the property’s lakes and forest preserve. Guests can enjoy a variety of kid- and family-friendly activities, including a face painter and bounce house, along with an on-site activation from Play It Again Sports Downers Grove featuring outdoor games, knowledgeable staff available to answer biking and sporting questions, and gear available for purchase. Assorted refreshments will be available à la carte, allowing guests to explore the property and purchase items as they go, including grilled skewers with chicken, beef, and shrimp, grilled corn on the cob, and grilled pita with hummus, complemented by a selection of beverages, creating a fun and welcoming morning for all.
