The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, in partnership with Langhart Communications, proudly presents Anne &amp; Emmett, a powerful one-act play written by acclaimed journalist, author, and playwright Janet Langhart Cohen.
This moving production imagines a conversation between Anne Frank, the young Jewish diarist whose life was cut short during the Holocaust, and Emmett Till, the 14-year-old African American boy whose 1955 murder became a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement. Through their dialogue, Anne &amp; Emmett explores themes of prejudice, injustice, courage, and hope while highlighting the enduring impact of their stories on generations around the world.
Experience this thought-provoking theatrical event that brings together two iconic voices from history in a conversation that remains relevant today.

Enjoy the 42nd annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue. Attendees can take advantage of five fests in one! Whiskey tastings, live bands, Best of Lincoln Park Cocktail Competition, kid’s carnival and a dog parade. The sprawling fest will take place Friday-Sunday, July 24-26 and is located at 2500 N. Lincoln Ave between Fullerton and Wrightwood in the heart of the Lincoln Park/DePaul neighborhood. The hours are Fri: 4-10pm, Sat: Noon to 10pm and Sunday: 12-8 pm.
Attendees can try a variety of 100 percent local restaurants including Cafe Tola, Tandoor Char House, Paula’s Thai Kitchen, Mercadito, Mazala Pizza, Medi Kitchen &amp; Cocktail, Sapori Trattoria and Dog Haus Biergarten.
On Friday, the Lincoln Park Cocktail Competition will kick off the fest. Gold Coast Sounds Good Choir

Chicagoland's largest no-audition choral program for adults "55 and better" has nine choirs throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including the Gold Coast. Conducted by Jonathan Miller, the choir rehearses and performs at the beautiful, historic Fourth Presbyterian Church on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, 126 E. Chestnut Ave. Three sessions a year are offered -- two 15-week sessions in the fall and spring, and one 8-week session in the summer). All sessions include: a weekly 90-minute rehearsal with an additional (optional) online Friday rehearsal; guidance and instruction by professional conductors and accompanists; licensed sheet music; accessible rehearsal and performance venues; and free, public performances by each choir. Registered singers are also free to rehearse and perform with as many of the nine choirs as they wish for just one registration fee per session. Scholarships are readily available -- call the Sounds Good office at 630.395.9542 to apply. Sounds Good Choir also offers the only choir in Illinois for adults with early-stage dementia and their care partners. The Good Memories program is specifically designed to provide a safe, welcoming community in which to sing, socialize, and have fun.
