Ahoy, mateys! Jewel-Osco is taking over Brookfield Zoo Chicago to celebrate the 8th birthday of its beloved mascot, JoJo, with a free pirate-themed birthday bash for all guests admitted to the zoo that day.
The afternoon will feature family-friendly entertainment and activities including:
- Face painting and caricature artists
- Temporary pirate tattoos
- Walk the Plank challenge with prizes
- Treasure hunt with swag and take-home trinkets
- Pirate stilt walkers and roaming performers
- Parrot ventriloquist
- Free carousel rides through 4 p.m.
- 3D pirate-themed chalk art photo opportunity
- Make-your-own pirate hat station
- Pirate face cut-out photo ops
- Interactive pirate games and hopscotch
- Mascot meet-and-greets
- JoJo birthday song and dance
- DJ and music throughout the celebration
