Join us at the Mariano’s Tastemaker Kitchen as we celebrate the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month with an unforgettable culinary experience led by Chef Ernesto Rodriguez, founder of El Molcajete Sauces.
Born and raised in Santa Gertrudis, Oaxaca, Mexico, Chef Rodriguez grew up surrounded by a rich culinary tradition rooted in family, community, and fresh ingredients. Inspired by the recipes passed down by his mother, he founded El Molcajete Sauces to preserve and share the authentic flavors of Oaxaca, including the region’s renowned mole sauces and traditional cooking techniques. Today, his Evanston-based company offers handcrafted sauces, cooking classes, catering experiences, and farm-to-table dinners that celebrate the depth and diversity of Mexican cuisine.
During this special hands-on class, Chef Rodriguez will showcase the vibrant flavors, ingredients, and traditions that define Mexican cooking while sharing personal stories from his culinary journey. Guests will learn techniques inspired by Oaxacan cuisine, discover the cultural significance of classic ingredients, and enjoy delicious tastings that honor Hispanic culinary heritage.
Whether you're an adventurous home cook, a lover of authentic Mexican flavors, or simply looking for a unique way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, this Tastemaker Kitchen experience promises an evening of education, inspiration, and exceptional food.
Come celebrate culture, community, and cuisine with one of the region’s most passionate culinary ambassadors as we kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month, one delicious bite at a time.
