CFD Member Dies During North Side During Training Exercise: Reports
The Chicago Fire Department is mourning the loss of a 30-year veteran of the force.
CHICAGO—A member of the Chicago Fire Department has died during a training exercise, Chicago fire officials said.
The training exercise took place on the city’s North Side, Chicago fire officials said Thursday.
“The Chicago Fire Department mourns the loss of a 30-year member who died today during a training exercise. A procession to the Medical Examiner's Office is pending,” CFD said in a statement on X.”

The training was taking place in the 6600-block of North Kedzie Avenue, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
The CFD member was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where the member died.
