Chance The Rapper Live Streams Chicago Police Stop

Chance streamed the traffic stop on Instagram just in case it got "out of hand."

CHICAGO, IL -- Chance the Rapper was out driving with his girlfriend Kirsten Corley and their daughter on Sunday afternoon, when Corley was pulled over. Chance live-streamed the traffic stop from Instagram, explaining that he wanted to record it "in case it gets out of hand." They were pulled over on the ramp from the Dan Ryan to the Stevenson Expressway.

In the video, Chance explains that his family is on their way back from Church, and that he has "no gun in the car; no drugs in the car."

When the officer let his girlfriend off with a warning for a moving violation, Chance says he "knew he was a good dude," and explains that he "has no problem with the men and women who are brave enough to put on that badge," and adds that "policing as a system is racist and oppressive."

Chance is known for speaking out against racism, and for his support of the Chicago public school system. The award-winning rapper has six million followers on Instagram.
