'Chance The Snapper' Catcher 'Alligator Robb' Gives Health Update

Frank Robb, who is in need of surgery to repair a heart valve, offered a health update Friday.

CHICAGO, IL — Frank "Alligator" Robb needs additional surgery on his chest when he goes under the knife to have a faulty heart valve repaired. Robb, who gained popularity after he retrieved the alligator known as Chance the Snapper from a lagoon in Humboldt Park in 2019, offered the health update on his GoFundMe page Friday.

Robb wrote that a recent CT scan discovered that his sternum is putting pressure on his heart and right lung. Robb will be required to have a surgery similar to one he had as a child to create more space in his chest.

For this reason, Robb's case had to be referred to a hospital in northern Florida. The hospital is the same place Robb had the initial surgery as a child. He's hoping to have the surgery done before the new year.
