CHICAGO, IL — Frank Robb, also known as "Alligator Robb," gained fame in 2019 when he safely retrieved "Chance the Snapper," a five-foot long alligator, from the Humboldt Park Lagoon. Now, Alligator Robb needs Chicago's help.

Robb needs mitral valve surgery, according to ABC 7. A GoFundMe has been started to help raise the funds for Robb, who does not have insurance and is considered a high-risk patient. The surgery will also put Robb out of work during his long recovery.

The GoFundMe, started by a friend of Robb's reads, "To date, Frank has still not found a surgeon willing to take on a high-risk patient, much less one who does not have insurance. He is also concerned about how he will support himself in the months following the surgery, when catching wildlife and alligators is not an option. Then, on top of it all, how will he even pay for surgery, a surgery his life depends on?"

The GoFundMe description continues, "The world is definitely a better place with Frank Robb in it and there is no doubt that he is not done educating the world about wildlife, including one of the last remaining dinosaurs, the American Alligator.
