5 Fun Things to Do in Chicago This Weekend
A variety of adventures await Chicagoans July 22-24.

CHICAGO, IL - The penultimate weekend of July offers a few options for food lovers. It’s also a great weekend for fast sailboats. Here’s what’s on tap.
- Taste of River North: A much smaller version of the Taste of Chicago will last throughout the weekend at Ward Park in the heart of River North. A $5 donation at the gate gets you into the 15th anniversary of the beloved festival.
- Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac: Navy Pier serves as the starting point for the 108th annual Race to Mackinac, a ship voyage that covers the length of Lake Michigan. More than 350 boats are expected to take part this year. The race starts at noon on Saturday.
- Taste of Latin America: Get a taste of some of the best Spanish, Cuban and Puerto Rican restaurants in the city during this two-day festival (Saturday and Sunday) in the West Side’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Admission is free, and there will be DJs providing entertainment.
- Boy George in Concert: Culture Club and Boy George will play in concert this weekend at the Chicago Theater.
- Drunk History of Chicago: Learn about buildings on Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive on what Metromix refers to as a “slightly drunk tour” planned for Saturday at 3 p.m.
