Chicago Trump Tower Protest: Activists Love Bare Butts, And They Will Not Hide At Mooning Event

The upcoming demonstration at Trump Tower is one of a string of events planned in the coming months to speak out against the president.

CHICAGO, IL — For the next protest against President Donald Trump, demonstrators are promising the city the moon. More accurately, they're promising to moon the city. Or at least, the part of downtown in front of Trump International Hotel and Tower, near Wacker Drive and Wabash Avenue.

Called "Operation: Kiss Our Asses, Release Your Taxes!" the protest involves participants gathering at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12 near the Chicago River and dropping drawers to moon Trump Tower at the "crack" — pun intended by organizers — of 4 p.m., according to the event's Facebook page. As of Friday morning, more than 300 people were planning to attend.

"Donald Trump doesn't think the American people want to see his tax returns, so let's show him that we do in the classiest way possible!" states the description for the event, which is using #rumpsagainsttrump for social media platforms.

The protest that we refuse to call "cheeky" is one of a string of demonstrations planned in Chicago to speak out against Trump and his administration's agenda.

Resist Trump Tuesdays: Every Tuesday for the first 100 days of Trump's presidency, demonstrators will gather at 3:30 p.m. at Federal Plaza to protest a specific issue. This week, the topic was Betsy DeVos' confirmation as education secretary. Next week, the subject is health care reform.

Not My President's Day Rally: Details are still pending concerning this President's Day weekend event planned for 9 a.m. Feb. 20 at Trump Tower. Check out the protest's Facebook page and Twitter feed for updates.

Latinxs Against Trump: "Throughout all of the protesting going on I think we needed a protest centered around the hatred and lies Trump has spread about Mexicans and immigrants," the event's Facebook page states. This demonstration is at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at Cloud Gate in Millennium Park.

Trump Tax March: Like last month's Women's March, this protest is connected to a larger series of national Tax Day marches demanding Trump make his tax returns public. The march is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 15 and begin at Millennium Park.
