Chicago-Area Weather: Rain On Monday; Seasonal Temps This Week

A look at the weather forecast for the week ahead for the Chicago area.

Isolated rain showers and temps in the 7os are possible on Monday for the Chicago area. From there, dry weather and near-seasonal temperatures are in the forecast through mid-week, according to the National Weather Service.

High temps between 71 and 76 degrees are in the forecast on Monday while high temps between 78 and 81 degrees are possible for Tuesday. On Wednesday, high temps between 79 and 83 degrees are expected. Portions of the Chicago area could see rain showers and high temps in the lower 80s.

  • SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows in the upper 50s in the suburbs...but in the lower 60s downtown. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph in the evening shifting to the northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
  • MONDAY: Partly sunny with isolated showers. Highs in the mid 70s inland...but only in the lower 70s near the lake. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
  • MONDAY NIGHT: Clear. Lows in the upper 50s in the suburbs...but in the lower 60s downtown. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
  • TUESDAY: Sunny. Highs around 80. Northwest winds around 5 mph.
  • TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows around 60 in the suburbs... But in the mid 60s downtown. South winds around 5 mph in the evening becoming southwest after midnight.
  • WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 80s.
  • WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s.
  • THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s.
  • THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with chance of showers. Lows in the mid 60s. Highs in the lower 80s. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
