Chicago-Area Weather: Thunderstorms Possible, Temps in the 70s

As the Memorial Day weekend comes to an end, thunderstorms are possible through sunset on Monday north of Interstate 80, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a chance for showers Tuesday morning and a slight chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon hours for the Chicago area. Meanwhile, high temps in the 60s and 70s are expected throughout the week ahead.

Much like Monday, Tuesday should be windy. Wind gusts between 10 to 20 mph are expected for the Chicago area with wind gusts up to 30 mph possible in the afternoon. The chance of rain showers will continue into Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday is expected to be dry but showers and thunderstorms are again possible on Thursday with rain likely and thunderstorms possible on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
