COOK COUNTY, IL – A Chicago police officer already accused of sexually abusing a minor in a vehicle, is now facing new charges of child sexual assault, child sexual abuse and child pornography.

David Deleon, 30, is being held without bail on felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor, manufacturing child pornography/moving depiction, possession of child pornography/moving depiction, and one count of unauthorized videotaping.

Deleon, of the 3200 block of North Ozanam Avenue, was arrested by Norridge police after a minor reported being sexually abused by the Chicago cop in a vehicle along Harlem Avenue on March 25, police said. Deleon was subsequently charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery on a public way.

Following Deleon’s arrest, Norridge police seized his cell phone and forwarded evidence to the Chicago Police Department, which turned over evidence to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

Cook County investigators said evidence recovered from Deleon’s cell phone showed that he sexually assaulted and abused minors. Deleon is also alleged to have recorded lewd videos of himself with them in his home, plying minors with alcohol and tobacco, and handling guns.

Deleon met the minors while on duty as a Chicago police officer, and invited them to sleep at his home, Cook County investigators said. The victims have been offered assistance through the Sheriff’s Police Victim Support Services Unit.

The disgraced officer was arrested and charged Thursday. Deleon appeared for a bond hearing on Friday where a judge ordered him held without bail.

Deleon has been a Chicago police officer since 2017. He is currently on unpaid leave after being stripped of his police powers in March.
