Chicago Drivers Love Their Commute? One Study Says So
Local drivers like to "zone out" and enjoy their commute.

CHICAGO, IL — Traffic? What traffic? According to a new ranking, Illinois residents don't mind the congestion on local roads. Despite reports of road rage incidents and cities that rank among the worst for commuters nationwide, a new study by cars.com claims Chicagoland drivers love their commutes and says a majority of motorists nationwide use their drive time as "me time."
"Like Houstonians, Chicago commuters feel content and happy when driving. In fact, they’re most likely to be 'zoned out' or daydreaming while driving," the study said. "They have one of the best commutes of the five cities in terms of congestion and traffic, and spend their drives singing, listening to music and drinking coffee."

Despite how unsafe "zoning out" behind the wheel sounds, cars.com said 40 percent of surveyed drivers in Chicago said they love driving and being in their car. Drivers who responded to the survey in Los Angeles, on the other hand, reported feeling stressed while driving, and many in Washington, D.C. reported feeling angry behind the wheel and swearing at other drivers.
