Chicago Mass Shooting Injures 6: Police

CHICAGO — Six people were injured early Sunday when a shooter opened fire in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the 900 block of North Central Park Avenue, police said, where the unidentified shooter discharged a firearm.

A party with over 100 guests had been held on the block that night, neighbors told WLS, but the event had appeared to be peaceful.

Among the victims were two men, ages 35 and 36, who were both in critical condition after each suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, according to police.

The other four victims, who were all in good condition, included a 33-year-old man shot in the finger, a 39-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the thigh, a 46-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the back and two gunshot wounds to the foot, and a 34-year-old woman shot in the hip, police said.

All six victims were taken to area hospitals, according to police, who said detectives were investigating.
