Chicago Michelin Guide 2019: New Restaurant, Bib Gourmands
Twenty-two restaurants in Chicago won at least one star on the prestigious list. One Old Town restaurant reigns supreme.

CHICAGO, IL — Michelin released its 2019 Chicago restaurant guide, having awarded stars to 22 restaurants, down from 25 last year. Crain's reported of the 25, four have closed and one restaurant was newly added to the prestigious list.
Temporis in West Town is the new restaurant on the list with its one-star award. Co-chefs Sam Plotnick and Don Young, whom Michelin describe as "young and passionate," run a dedicated team, according to a release from Michelin.
“We are happy to recognize this under-the-radar establishment with a star for the 2019 edition,” said Gwendal Poullennec, the restaurant guide's international director. “The food is creative, personal and crafted with product that reaches the highest level of freshness, as seen in their in-house hydroponic garden.”

In addition to its star restaurants, Michelin announced its list of Bib Gourmand restaurants last week. While not necessarily as high-end as the starred restaurants, Bib Gourmands aren't exactly greasy spoons. They must have "high quality food," and that's by Michelin standards.
To win this award, the restaurant must serve two courses and provide wine or dessert for not more than $40. Tax and tip can make the total exceed $40.
They added nine Bib Gourmands this year, making the total 58 in Chicago:
- Daguan Noodle (Chinatown and South)
- Daisies (Humboldt Park and Logan Square)
- Jade Court (Pilsen, University Village and Bridgeport)
- Lonesome Rose (Humboldt Park and Logan Square)
- Marisol (Gold Coast)
- Pacific Standard Time (River North)
- Passerotto (Andersonville, Edgewater and Uptown)
- Pizzeria Bebu (Pilsen, University Village and Bridgeport)
- Proxi (West Loop)
