Chicago Mourns Death of Prince
Fans flock social media to honor the musical icon who died Thursday morning in Minnesota.

CHICAGO, IL - Everyone seems to remember where they were for major American news events. You remember when you heard about 9/11, the JFK Assassination and the Boston Marathon bombings.
For some, the same can be said about celebrity deaths, especially ones with special musical talent that transcends the country. They remember how they found of about the untimely deaths of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and more recently Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and David Bowie.
For music fans everywhere, Thursday is one of those days. Following the confirmation of the death of Prince, fans poured on the tributes across social media.
Chicago sports fans may remember Prince was the halftime entertainment in Super Bowl XLI, the most recent football championship that included the Chicago Bears.
Prince most recently performed in Chicago in 2012, dazzling fans at the United Center. Chicago Now recapped the experience at the time.
Old Town-favorite comedy club The Second City plans to show 'Purple Rain' - the artist's legacy wrapped up in one phrase - all day.
