1 Dead, Chicago Police Officer Among 2 Injured In Friday Shooting
One man is dead and a teenager was also among those injured in a shooting in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, according to a report.
CHICAGO, IL — A police officer and a 15-year-old boy were injured Friday night when gunfire erupted in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. A third person, a 25-year-old man, was killed in the shooting, according to a report.
Police were called to the 7200 block of South Jeffery Boulevard around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the teenager and the man laying on the ground with gunshot wounds, WGN 9 reported. While trying to investigate, shots were fired at the officers.
A female officer was struck by multiple bullets, according to WGN. The officer and her partner self-transported to a nearby hospital, Chicago police said in a statement to media.

Police did not fire any weapons, the statement continued.
The teenager was taken to Comer Children's Hospital for treatment. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The fatal victim had not been identified as of Sunday morning.
