Chicago School Employee Fired After Camera-Like Device Found in Bathroom

A staff member at Ogden International School was fired after a camera-like device was found in the staff bathroom.

CHICAGO, IL — A staff member at Ogden International School, in the heart of Chicago, has been fired after a device resembling a camera was found in a staff restroom, CBS reports.

School principal Michael Beyer sent out an email to parents on Sunday addressing the issue, although he didn't identify the employee and said he couldn't share much information.

“I know this is a shock and that you likely have many questions. I regret that I cannot share details of the removal at this time,” Beyer said in an email to parents on Sunday, according to CBS.

A plastic device that appeared to be a camera was found in the staff bathroom at the Ogden International School's East Campus last Wednesday. Beyer said the device wasn't designed to send information, so the school doesn't think any images were sent from the device.

The Chicago Police are investigating.
