Woman, Man Charged With Murder In 2-Year-Old's Death: Chicago PD
Milixen Ardon and Wilfredo Cruz were charged in connection to the death of Alisson Zelaya, who was found unresponsive at their home.
CHICAGO—A woman and man from Chicago each were charged Thursday with first-degree murder in the death of a 2-year-old girl who died at their home from injuries consistent with child abuse, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Milixen Ardon, 24, and Wilfredo Cruz, 43, were arrested at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2700 block of W. 68th St., after a police investigation into the death of Alisson Zelaya, authorities said.
Police said that earlier Tuesday, officers discovered the child unresponsive at the home Ardon and Cruz shared in the 6600 block of S. California, which is in the 8th District.

"The victim had sustained multiple injuries consistent with child abuse," Chicago police said in a statement.
Police did not reveal the suspects' connection to the victim.
