Cold Front Moving In, Temps Drop 20 Degrees By Thursday

ILLINOIS — Mild temperatures started the day on Wednesday, as most of the area saw highs around 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

However, due to a cold front moving through the area, temps will fall to the 40s and low 50s by the afternoon, the weather service said. Rain is also possible, especially south of Interstate 88.

Winds will increase overnight into Thursday, making for a cold and blustery day, the weather service said. The high for Thursday is 40 degrees.

The rest of the week will also be colder, with highs in the upper 40s, according to the weather service. Friday will have a high of 41, Saturday a high of 49 and Sunday a high of 49 degrees.

The rest of the week and the weekend looks to be dry and sunny, although there is a slight chance of rain and snow on Sunday, according to the weather service.
