Cook County Board Recognizes DePaul Students for 2020 Census

DePaul University students honored by Cook County Board for public relations campaign, Love Where You Count, promoting the 2020 Census.

As National Census Day approaches on April 1, dedicated groups around Chicago are driving participation and raising awareness for the 2o2o Census and how more than $34 billion in federal funding impacts community initiatives and public services such as, student loans, roads and construction, healthcare programs, public libraries, and more.

On Wednesday, February 26 DePaul University's PRSSA Bateman case study competition team members, Natalie Rohman, Callie Boboc, Lauren Russett, Maddie Torti, and Stephanie Robertson, were awarded with a resolution during the Chicago City Council Consent Calendar meeting and supported by Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle, and District 12 Cook County Commissioner, Bridget Degnen, for the DePaul University Bateman team's dedication to the Chicagoland communities in raising awareness for the 2020 Census.

The DePaul PRSSA Bateman team is currently implementing a full public relations campaign, Love Where You Count, and promoting the 2020 Census by engaging Chicagoans' pride and passion for their communities, as well as, what they love: relationships, music, and sports. Their campaign goal is for every individual to spread love to their communities by taking the 2020 Census and Love Where You Count.

The DePaul University Bateman team has been spreading the love throughout their Chicago communities by engaging college students and renters on campus, at sporting events, public libraries, and community Alderman and Metropolitan Tenants Organization meetings to educate residents and gain visibility for their campaign. They are promoting their @lovecountsdepaul Tik Tok account and social media through their hashtag, #lovecounts.
