Cook County Jail Detainees Accused of Getting Rough With Officers

Five detainees charged with spitting, tossing feces, buttock grabbing and punching Cook County correctional officers in separate incidents.

CHICAGO, IL -- Five Cook County Jail detainees were charged this week with battering correctional deputies in incidents involving buttock grabbing, spitting, fecal tossing, dead weight dropping and punching, Cook County Sheriff Dart said in a news release.

Sam Jones 21, is accused of spitting in an officer’s face after he refused verbal orders to lock up in his cell in an incident that took place Aug. 30. When one of the correctional deputies handcuffed him, Jones is alleged to have suddenly dropped all of his weight against one of correctional deputies, severely injuring his back. Jones was charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest.on Spet. 14 after a sheriff’s office investigation.

During a therapy session in the Division 8 residential treatment unit on Sept. 4, Jesse Anderer grabbed a mental health specialist’s buttocks during breathing exercises.

After being given his meal tray, investigators learned that on Aug. 1, 29-year-old Tacorey Killebrew allegedly threw a container full of fecal matter into the deputy’s face and uniform. He was charged with three counts of aggravated battery on Sept. 13. Killebrew has also been accused five times of aggravated battery five times of aggravated battery against staff.

Cordarryl Stevenson, who the sheriff’s office said was involved in a hostage situation inside the jail in July, Stevenson alleged spat on a deputies’ face on April 23. He was charged Sept. 15 after an investigation.

The sheriff’s office also released a video purporting to show Jacquez Hooks, 24, trying to force open a cell in Division 8 from June 8. When he was told to stop, Hooks punched the deputy in the face. He was charged on Sept. 12
