Cooler Temps, Freezing Conditions Overnight: Weekend Weather
A few lake effect showers are also expected Friday. Temps in the 50s are expected.

Temperatures are expected to drop off this weekend.
On Friday, breezy north-northeasterly winds will result in much cooler conditions today. High temperatures are only expected to only top out in the low 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
Lake effect cloud cover will also increase across the area through the morning, with a few isolated to widely scattered lake effect showers possible, especially near Lake Michigan, according to weather officials.

Freezing conditions are expected Friday night outside of Chicago. Otherwise, cool conditions will continue on Saturday, but breezy southwest winds on Sunday will result in a return to above normal temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. These above normal temperatures will continue next week.

- Friday: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph inland... But north 20 to 30 mph near the lake. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
- Friday night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s in the suburbs... But in the upper 30s downtown. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph in the evening decreasing to around 5 mph after midnight.
- Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
- Saturday Night: Clear. Lows in the mid 30s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
- Sunday: Sunny. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph.
- Sunday Night: Clear in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s.
- Monday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s.
