CPS Classes Canceled For Eighth Day, Making 2019 Teachers’ Strike Longest Since 1987
CPS said as of 4 p.m., the Chicago Teachers Union said there was no possibility of a deal before the end of the day on Sunday.
CHICAGO (CBS)– Mayor Lori Lightfoot expressed disappointment Sunday night as the Chicago teachers’ strike remained unresolved and classes were canceled for an eighth day on Monday.
CPS said as of 4 p.m., the Chicago Teachers Union said there was no possibility of a deal before the end of the day on Sunday. As a result, CPS said, it will not be possible to hold classes Monday.
