CTA Supervisor Shot While Responding To Bus Crash: Reports

A tow truck driver who was also responding to the crash returned fire, according to reports.

CHICAGO — A CTA bus supervisor was shot while responding to a crash Tuesday and a tow truck driver returned fire, according to reports.

The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in the 3600 block of West 47th Street in the southwestern neighborhood of Archer Heights, police said. The 55-year-old victim was hit in the thigh by a passenger of an unknown vehicle and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition, according to police.

The offending vehicle fled and no one was in custody Tuesday afternoon, police said, adding detectives were investigating.

The supervisor and tow driver — who had a Concealed Carry License — were responding to a collision involving a bus and at least four vehicles when the shots rang out, according to WLS.
