White Christmas For Illinois? Temps Hit 40s Ahead Of Holidays

It doesn't look like Chicago area residents will see a white Christmas this year.

ILLINOIS — With only six days left until Christmas, it doesn't look like Chicago area residents will see a white Christmas this year, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be in the 40s for most of the week, before warming up to the 50s on Christmas Eve, the weather service said.

Monday will be breezy with a high of 42, and dry conditions are expected through midweek, according to the weather service. Tuesday will have a high of 41, and Wednesday a high of 34.

Thursday will have a high of 48, followed by a very mild Christmas Eve on Friday with a high of 56 degrees, according to the weather service. There is also a chance of showers on Friday, mainly after 1 p.m. and into Friday night.

Right now, Christmas Day looks to be mostly sunny with a high of 44 degrees, according to the weather service forecast.
