Early Voting Opens Monday, Oct. 24, in Chicago Neighborhood Wards

Information about early voting sites, grace period voting and times for the upcoming general election. Early voting runs Oct. 24-Nov. 7.

CHICAGO, IL -- Early voting in Chicago opens Monday, Oct. 24, at sites throughout the city. Any Chicago voter may use any site in the city for early voting and grace period registration through Nov. 7, regardless of where in the city the voter lists.

Turnout for the historic presidential election, which falls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, is expected to be huge. Any Chicago voter may use any site in the city for Early Voting & Registration through Nov. 7 -- regardless of where in the city the voter lives, according to Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

All ballots cast in early voting are final. After casting ballots during early voting, voters may not return to amend, change or undo a ballot for any reason. It is a felony to vote more than once -- or to attempt to vote more than once -- in the same election.

Voters don't need a reason or excuse to use early voting and registration before Election Day. Government-issued photo ID is not required but is helpful if there is a question about the voter's registration, address, signature or if there are two voters with the same or similar names at the same address.

Registration services are available at all early voting sites. Any voter who needs to register for the first time or file a change of address or a change of name needs to show two forms of ID, one of which shows the voter's current address.
