Evanston Community Meeting to Discuss Future of Civic Center, Police, Fire Headquarters
Residents can share their ideas on improving and utilizing public properties as part of the City's 'Putting Assets to Work' initiative.

EVANSTON, IL — The City of Evanston is inviting community members to a meeting to discuss the future of several public facilities.
These facilities include the Civic Center, the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, and the Police and Fire Headquarters.
The meeting is part of the City’s “Putting Assets to Work” (PAW) initiative, which aims to gather ideas from residents on how public properties can be improved and utilized. The PAW program uses various methods to collect community input, such as crowdsourced placemaking, digital platforms, surveys, and focus groups.

The City stated that PAW is designed to ensure Evanston’s public assets reflect the needs and aspirations of the entire community. It emphasizes that every voice, from longtime residents to newcomers of all ages and backgrounds, plays an important role in guiding the future of these spaces.
The community meeting will take place on February 25 at 6 p.m. It will be held in Room B/C at the Robert Crown Community Center, located at 1801 Main Street in Evanston. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the initiative and to share their ideas and priorities regarding the public facilities.
