Fan Sues Blackhawks, Says Drunk Fell on Him During Game

Fan at game last May says stadium security wouldn't remove the intoxicated man even though others had complained about him.

CHICAGO, IL - Violence in hockey isn’t limited to just what happens on the ice.

Fights can break out in the stands, too. But a recently filed lawsuit indicates contact between fans can also happen simply because one of them is just too drunk.

A TMZ report shows John Cooke, a fan at a Chicago Blackhawks game last May, is suing the team and the United Center. Cooke says a fan two rows behind him became extremely intoxicated in the first period, lost his balance, fell forward and crushed him.

The plaintiff said he suffered injuries from the incident.

Cooke said in the lawsuit other fans had complained that the one who fell was getting too drunk before the incident, but that stadium security would not act in removing him.
