Ferris Wheel Will Be Added to NFL 'Draft Town' in Chicago
The NFL is considering moving the draft to Chicago permanently.

CHICAGO, IL - The NFL Draft will be held in Chicago for the second year in a row next month and will feature a number of additions including a Ferris Wheel in Grant Park.
The Ferris Wheel will be put up in Grant Park near Van Buren Street and an area dedicated to the College Football Hall of Fame will be added for this year’s event, set for April 28-30, reports DNAinfo Chicago.
“Draft Town” - the interactive area with several NFL-related family friendly games - will also increase in size this year and be moved closer to the lakefront from Michigan Avenue.

The big draft board, where all the NFL rookie selections are announced, will move to an area closer to Buckingham Fountain.
An NFL spokesperson hinted this week that the success of the event in Chicago could make the city the permanent locale for the NFL’s most popular off-season event.

"When we were there on day three through [the last pick] ... and saw all the energy and enthusiasm of fans, it made us say 'this is a great home for the draft,'" said Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s senior vice president of events, adding though that “all opportunities” will still be explored.
Last year, the NFL Draft brought somewhere between $44 million and $86 million to the city according to various economic studies in its first year in Chicago.
