Freezing Rain, Ice Accumulation Possible: IL Weekend Weather
The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday for most of the Chicago area.
ILLINOIS — Ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible as freezing rain is expected for the Chicago area on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, La Salle, Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, Cook and Will counties for 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the weather service, difficult travel conditions are possible due to the icy roads. Secondary roads, bridges, overpasses and sidewalks will be the most susceptible for ice.

Air temperatures may climb above freezing on Saturday, but ground and pavement temperatures may lag, resulting in icy conditions on untreated surfaces, the weather service said.
Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are also possible on Saturday afternoon, the weather service said.
