FullPsycle Chicago Supports Envision Unlimited Riders

Cycling Program Trained 55 Persons with Disabilities To Participate in MB "Bike the Drive"

This year's MB “Bike the Drive” event, which took place on Sunday, May 27th, was a smashing success, especially for lead sponsor FullPsycle Chicago and participants from Envision Unlimited. Together, the group had 8 tandem bicycles out on the course with two escort single bikes totaling trips of 10 and 14 miles!

Envision Unlimited provides persons with disabilities or other special needs quality services which promote choice, independence and community integration.

It was through FullPsycle Chicago, and owner/program manager David Pufundt, that 55 Envision participants were able to train and successfully finish the bike ride.

Pufundt has been working with adults from Envision Unlimited since January. Some have been diagnosed with down syndrome, autism and one person is blind. Every Monday morning at 11am David hosts a class for participants to learn the basics of spinning, while also lifting weights and working on types exercises that improve coordination and communication.

“Given the success of this year’s efforts, we are going to keep our cycling program going all year long in order to train for Bike The Drive’s 30 mile loop next year,” explains Pufundt. In addition, we are going to add yoga to our summer program.

Over the last 2 weeks, Pufundt and the group trained together out on the 606 with tandem bikes in an effort to prepare for MB’s “Bike the Drive.”

NBC's "Biggest Loser" winner Danni Allen came out to ride and support the Envision team riders.
