Fundraiser Started For Chicago Police Officer Battling Breast Cancer

CHICAGO — Community members are raising money for a Chicago police officer fighting cancer.

Nancy Rivera has been battling stage 4 breast cancer since 2021, according to a GoFundMe started to support her during her illness.

“Medical bills and a lack of medical availability are causing additional stress on her and her family,” the GoFundMe said. “Pease consider donating to help ease her financial strain and lift the spirits of an extremely selfless person.”

As of Thursday evening, the fundraiser had received over $10,000 in donations.
