Gas Main Hit at State and Madison
Traffic problems expected after accident in The Loop Tuesday afternoon.

CHICAGO, IL - A construction crew hit a gas main in the heart of The Loop Tuesday afternoon, diverting traffic from State and Madison.
The Chicago Fire Department said on Twitter the crew hit an "old and unused" gas main, and that the gas company will handle the situation.
The gas leak has shut down several nearby streets, according to a CBS report.

Just before 2 p.m., State Street was closed between Lake and Adams, while Madison is closed between Michigan and Dearborn.
