Goodbye Dragon Boat, Katsu, Mom's, Monastero's, Yak-Zies Original
Several restaurants have closed after decades of service, and the Original Yak-Zies bar recently closed, but will stay open in Wrigleyville.

Looking back at 2017 the Monastero family left the (Italian) restaurant business after 55 years on Devon by Pulaski. Their final day was actually a private party for their staff (pictured) as a thank you gesture.
Also saying goodbye was the Imamura family as they retired after 29 years and closed their Katsu (Japanese) restaurant on Peterson east of California. Also retiring after more than 30 years were the owners of Mom's Bake Shop (Filipino) on Peterson by Western. The owners of Dragon Boat (Chinese) also retired after several decades on Belmont west of Central.
Here in 2018 Yak-Zies The Original on Diversey just closed last month after 52 years of being run by the Spagnoli and Miller families, but the Wrigleyville location will stay open.

Thank you to all of these families for their decades of food, drinks, service, and hard work - their combined years of service adds up to almost 200 years.
