Hershey’s to Close Chocolate World on Magnificent Mile
Shoppers on the Mag Mile will have one more month to take in the interactive chocolate experience.

CHICAGO, IL - Shoppers on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile will have one final holiday season to enjoy an interactive shopping experience. Officials with the chocolate giant Hershey’s confirmed plans to close its Chicago flagship store at 822 N. Michigan Ave. in January, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The exact closing date of Hershey’s Chocolate World isn’t known. The store has been on the Mag Mile since 2005 and offers “an interactive retail experience,” where shoppers are provided an opportunity to make a candy mix as a Hershey’s factory worker and have their photo printed on a candy bar wrapper.
The Chicago store was the industry giant’s second location outside of Hershey, Pa., but now the company says it plans to focus on its larger stores that have opened since. The Chicago location is only a third of the size of a similar spot that opened more recently in Las Vegas.
