Dedicated to Serving Refugee Girls in Africa, Heshima Kenya Becomes RefuSHE

Heshima Kenya, an award-winning organization dedicated to serving refugee girls in Nairobi, Kenya, announces their new name as RefuSHE.
For the past ten years, RefuSHE has built a one-of-a-kind holistic model for serving refugee girls in Kenya, and in the process, transformed thousands of lives. As they enter a new decade, they have decided to re-brand the organization with a new name and logo that allows them to take a leadership position in the global conversation on refugee girls.
The mission of the organization will not change – RefuSHE will continue their model of protecting, nurturing and empowering refugee women and girls from throughout East Africa.

“After an extensive period of research with our beneficiaries, boards, partners, and staff, we are proud to share our new name which reflects the future of our work” explains Alisa Roadcup, Executive Director. “We are passionate about standing with and for refugee girls, and RefuSHE singularly conveys our commitment to that end.”
RefuSHE will celebrate its new branding at their upcoming annual Fashion Challenge on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Chicago Cultural Center. The event combines fashion and philanthropy and will feature ten Chicago designers debuting original runway looks highlighting and utilizing artisan-made fabric.
