IL Restaurant Among Most Romantic In U.S. For Valentine's Day

CHICAGO — Choosing the perfect restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day isn't easy — if you make the wrong choice, you could end up with a restaurant that has as much romance as a Chuck E. Cheese's. To make the choice easier, TripAdvisor has released its first Most Romantic Restaurants in America for Valentine's Day 2019 list.

Based on the quality, quantity and recency of millions of reviews, the list names the top 25 most romantic restaurants in the country.

Steak 48, in Chicago's River North neighborhood, was ranked No. 14:

• What TripAdvisor diners say: "Every now and then a restaurant knocks it 'out of the park' with everything... ambiance, food, and staff. Welcome to Steak 48. This place rocks."
• Popular dishes: Filet mignon, ribeye, shrimp

Steak 48 includes a 3,000-bottle wine vault in its entryway, and 12,000-square-feet of dining space, with quiet nooks and chic decor. The restaurant's open kitchen features a raw bar on display for guests to view, which includes fresh shucked oysters, jumbo shrimp, Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab.

Besides its signature steaks, the restaurant offers a wide variety of appetizers, including fried deviled eggs, poke and steakhouse meatballs.

The Charleston Grill in South Carolina was named No. 1 on the TripAdvisor list. Restaurants in Arizona, Texas, California, Maryland, Idaho, Louisiana, Florida and New York were named in the top 10.
