Former NFL Player-Turned-Filmmaker Shares Personal Journey of Life After Football in "Shifting Gears"

It was an evening of football and storytelling as former NFL player Kyle Prater, showcased two films he directed, produced and edited titled “Shifting Gears I” and “Shifting Gears II.” The screening, hosted by subscription streaming service INDISTRY TV, took place on Thursday, February 7th at ArcLIght Cinemas Chicago in NewCity and benefitted the What’s Your Forte Foundation. A Q&A moderated by ABC Chicago sports reporter Dionne Miller took place after the screening with Prater and former Chicago Bear Matt Forte.

Approximately 100 friends, family and supporters were in attendance (including the athletes Prater coaches at Maine West High School) to celebrate Prater and his films which followed his inspiring and raw journey of life after football.

INDISTRY TV, which is led by sisters Mary Landaverde and Erroll Angara, will begin streaming “Shifting Gears” later this month. INDISTRY TV is an entertainment platform where members can interact with, shape, and curate the content they, and other members worldwide, consume.
