Interview with CEO Mark Berger Chicago
As the leader of Villa Healthcare, I guide the rest of the staff through their strong commitment to outstanding, quality care.

Mark Berger Chicago is Chief Executive Officer of Villa Healthcare, a leading provider of post-hospital care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term care services. For the past twenty years he has been a problem solver, mentor and a valued leader both within the Villa Healthcare family as well as the healthcare industry. His combination of administrative skills, sensitivity and his wonderful way with people, has made him an exemplary leader and a fine mentor. Among other roles, Mark Berger Chicago is involved in spearheading projects that help children with special needs and sits on the board of many charitable organizations. He’s early to bed, early to rise, a father and a big fan of outdoor activities.
Tell us about yourself
Mark Berger Chicago: I come from a service-oriented family and carry on that tradition in a way that would make everyone proud. I have over twenty-years of experience in the management of skilled nursing and rehabilitation care facilities. I have also held several leadership and managerial positions in both the private and non-profit sectors.

What have you achieved so far?
Mark Berger Chicago: In a career spanning more than 20 years, I have garnered substantial administrative and management experience in both the acute care and long-term care settings. Since founding Villa Healthcare in 2010, I have been responsible for the day-to-day operations of Villa Healthcare’s 22 Short Term Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers in locations throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. In that time, I managed to expand the adult day care program to include a social program for those with mild to moderate dementia, and have to ensured long-term growth for the Villa Healthcare family, among other highlights.
What are your plans for the future?
Mark Berger Chicago: I am honored to have a leadership position at this important juncture in the history of Villa Healthcare. As we continue to grow and adapt to a rapidly changing and challenging healthcare environment, I look forward to guiding change and spearheading innovation. With much still to accomplish, I’m hoping to achieve the long-term growth and success I have envisioned for the company.
