Snow Possible Thursday Morning, Chance Of Storms Friday For IL

On Friday, a stronger system is set to bring rain and the threat for some storms to the Chicago area, according to the weather service.

ILLINOIS — Light snow is possible Thursday morning, before rain and a few storms move into the area to close out the week on Friday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The weather service said light snow is possible north of Interstate 88 on Thursday morning. Otherwise, Thursday will be breezy with a high of 48 degrees.

Rain is likely mainly after noon on Friday, with winds as high as 15 mph according to the weather service forecast. Rain will continue Friday night, as well as a chance of rain and snow.

After a weekend with temps in the 40s, the weather service said there is a very high confidence in unseasonable warmth during the Dec. 12 to Dec. 20 period. Temperatures in the 50s are likely, and cloud cover will dictate how warm temperatures get, the weather service said.
